The mighty Fiat Group, owner of Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Jeep and Abarth, amongst others, has unleashed an exciting new range of cars at 2014’s Geneva Motor Show. Fiat Group experts, Thames Motor Group, based in Kent and Berkshire, will stock the new cars when they go into production. Below they give the lowdown on the newest range of cars to suit everyone.

Fiat Group have undergone a revolution in recent years, reviving the Abarth brand, developing the Fiat 500 into a host of family cars with the Fiat 500L and its siblings, as well as reigniting the UK’s love affair with Chryslers and Jeeps. Building on that phenomenal success, the Geneva Motor Show was the venue for one of the biggest new car releases Fiat Group have done.

“The new cars revealed at the Geneva Motor Show prove the Fiat Group is committed to innovation, creativity and providing cars with cutting-edge technology” said Kevin Khanna, Thames Motor Group Director. “We can’t wait to see these beautiful models in our showrooms in Tunbridge Wells and Slough and to learn more about them. Showing new cars off to our customers is one of the best parts of working in the automotive world and these cars will impress absolutely everyone”.

ALFA ROMEO 4C SPIDER, ALFA ROMEO MiTO AND GIULIETTA QUADRIFOGLIO VERDE

First up – the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider Concept. Its inspiration, the Alfa Romeo 4C, has already won a host of awards despite very few motorists having even seen one. The jewel in the Alfa Romeo crown, its invention has got insiders talking and Alfa Romeo as more popular than ever. It’s no wonder then that Alfa Romeo seek to capitalise on its success with the Spider Concept, bringing convertible style to the looks and feel of the 4C revolution.

Flanking the Alfa Romeo 4C are the new Giulietta and MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde models – the most advanced editions of Alfa’s two hatchbacks. Sergio Marchionne, Fiat Group’s luminary chairman, says the Alfa Romeo brand has had a complete 'rethink’ and the new breed of Alfas will be 'rear-wheel drive, light and good looking’.

FIAT PANDA CROSS

Fans of the Fiat Panda 4×4 will be delighted with the Fiat Panda Cross just revealed at Geneva. Known as one of the most affordable and economical 4x4s around, the Fiat Panda Cross is tougher, beefier and with an aggressive new attitude. As happy commuting as it is scaling hills and traversing mud, it comes with all-wheel-drive and Hill Descent mode. ABARTH 695 BIPOSTO

Hot hatchbacks are ever popular but the Abarth 695 Biposto looks set to reimagine the 'race car for the road’ cliche. With the best power to weight ratio in its class, this pocket rocket is bound to set your heart racing. A 'blink and it’s happened’ 5.9 seconds will take you to 62mph. Keep your foot down and you’ll top out at 143mph. But it’s as attractive as it is fast and light. With Abarth Corsa by Sabelt carbon racing seats, racing harnesses, Asphalt-inspired colour trim and a lack of back seats (hence 'biposto’) make it a sports car with a mission: to make you scream.

JEEP RENEGADE AND JEEP CHEROKEE

Adventures don’t always have to be oversized. The Jeep Renegade is entering the world of the smaller, crossover SUV whilst retaining the spirit of adventure. Innovative safety features, fuel efficiency and best-in-class off-road capability are what the Jeep Renegade stands for. Jeep Active Drive technology gives you a full-time 4×4 system, delivering up to 100% of the available engine torque to any wheel, providing ultra-optimal grip. Add the Jeep Selec-Terrain system, which gives you a maximum of 5 modes (Auto, Snow, Sand, Mud and Rock*) to 'architecture to deliver world-class torsional stiffness’ and the Jeep Renegade is the most intelligent small SUV to grace the UK’s terrain. Optional 'My Sky’ roof setup puts two removable panels in the roof, resulting in offroad, open-air freedom.

*Rock mode available only on Jeep Renegade Trailhawk

The Jeep Grand Cherokee has made an impressive impact on the UK 4×4 market, with its tagline of the 'most awarded SUV ever’ and the Jeep Cherokee looks set to build on that success. Excelling on whatever terrain you dare to drive on, the all-new Jeep Cherokee has won the 'best-in-class’ designation from Euro NCAP. 5-star safety and premium craftsmanship both inside and out, with a sleek and athletic design makes the Jeep Cherokee the embodiment of the 'Go anywhere, Do anything’ Jeep ethos. Moving a vehicle into a new era whilst retaining Jeep’s strong brand look and DNA is tough, but Jeep’s engineers have managed it. A characterful bonnet and the new CommandView, dual-pane power sunroof which extends from the windshield to the very rear of the vehicle marks the Cherokee out as very different from its larger namesake, the Grand Cherokee. It’s a car of its own, bound to make a mark on the SUV terrain in the UK.
